Jamie’s Tour Blog #5

I have loved doing these video blogs…
It’s been wonderful seeing the reactions they get,Iam most certainly not going to stop doing them.

I wanted to do a written blog because It’s refreshing to change up the way i tell you how and what we been up to…

On the eve of all the band going on our holidays I thought I would summarise some of the amazing experiences we have had so far…

Personally & most recently I have been feeling extra strong & vibrant on stage.
I have always had this energy but the last 6 months something magical has changed,my connection to my drums our songs, the stages has reached a completely different level…
I think it’s a bunch of things that have made me feel this way and the result has been that so far this has been the most exciting and rewarding time in my musical life…
The vibes are on HIGH!!!!

Some super highlights for me have been…

Handbags and Gladrags at Cardiff Stadium…
I have personally never heard it be sung back to us at such a loud volume.Truly thrilling…
I especially love that we get to play the song on our B stage in the middle of the audience so it feels really intimate.

As a drummer we are most often positioned at the back of the stage, (Unless your Tommy Lee of course) it’s extremely rare your drums will move from that position for the whole performance…
I truly love being able to go to another part of the stage and play songs…Epicness

Two nights at Sydney Opera House…
Not a venue we would usually play and for that it was a real treat & honour.
Being able to walk to the iconic venue from our hotel was very cool…
You get goosebumps when you get the first glimpse of the crazy building.
Especially knowing that you would be playing there later that night…

Kelly playing drums on Adams birthday in Bournemouth.
I have said this before but my favourite drummers are always songwriters.
They just have the best taste ,they know when to play and most importantly when not to play…
It was brilliant and very funny…

Talking about birthdays…30 Thousand people at Glasgow TRNSMT festival singing me Happy Birthday I will never forget…

Getting to play a few shows with Pearl Jam was a huge moment…
I never knew how much PJ influenced Stereophonics so Kelly & Eddie Vedder chatting backstage about music & life I know was very special…

Receiving an ICON Award from very brilliant charity Nordoff Robbins was a beautiful day.
Not just for our award but also to hear and see about everything Nordoff does…
If you don’t know please check out there website…

I have been enjoying Richards shirt game on this tour…
Every night he seems to have another wicked garment to play in…I LOVE IT.

We have mainly been playing outdoors the last few months and secretly I have wanted to do our Mr and Mrs Smith drum solo in the rain,
This came true at Sheffield’s Tramline festival recently …
It was so dramatic ,the rain on the lights bouncing of the drum skins.
I always take a short moment at the end of the solo to take in what just happened…
That night will never be forgotten…

There’s honestly so many special moments that happen every time we play but this blog would be longer than Lord of the rings if wrote about them all!!!

In a few weeks time we will back and playing more shows,Making more magic…

I CANT WAIT!!! VIBES TO YOU ALL!!!
